CherubimCherubim/Cherubs are angelic being who is involved in the worship and praise of God and considered to attend on the Abrahamic God in biblical tradition. Cherubim are first mentioned in the Bible in Genesis 3:24, “After He drove the man out, He placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.”  and throughout the Hebrew Bible and once in the New Testament in reference to the mercy seat of the Ark of the Covenant (Hebrews 9:5). The imagery of Revelation 4:6-9 also seems to be describing cherubim which conceptualize as a concept represented in ancient Middle Eastern art as a lion or bull with eagles’ wings and a human face, and regarded in traditional Christian angelogy as an angel of the second highest order of the ninefold celestial hierarchy. They also make an appearance in Islamic tradition which cherubs are angels who hold God’s throne. They ask God to forgive, bless and protect the righteous. .
