Archangel Ariel is found primarily in Jewish and Christian mysticism and Apocrypha. She is an overseer of nature, oversees the protection and healing of animals and plants, as well as the care of the Earth’s elements (such as water, wind, and fire), and the regulator of the underworld. Ariel appears sometimes in male form, and other times in female form. The name Ariel, “Lion of God” or “Hearth of God,” occurs in the Hebrew Bible but as the name of an angel the earliest source is unclear.
